Week #9 Update

My posting earlier this week indicated that I would have a big chemo treatment today (Friday). The plan was to move my regular treatment forward three days because the clinic is closed on Monday. Unfortunately I was not able to get the treatment today because my white blood count and platelet count are too low. It turns out I need the full recovery week to get these important blood components back in the normal range. My treatment is now scheduled for next week Thursday, in part to give a little extra time for recovery and in part because that is when I could get an appointment. I continue to get reminders that I need to remain flexible and not expect to be able to follow the plan exactly.
